Found at Colonial Lake, I saw this Heron far up the bank hunting and coming my direction. I picked a spot and sat on the shore opposite some tall grass and waited. He came right up to in front of me, and spotted something in the water. To my amazement, he struck down and came back up with this pond sunfish. Rather than bite the fish, he has impaled it to prevent coming in contact with the spikes in the fish’s fin.
