Team Maslanka Pedals into the Storm for Anchor House 2020!

It’s that time of year again, gearing up for the big ride with my family. This time however, things are very different. Do to the current situation, the physical group ride has been cancelled. However, these kids still need funding regardless of hurricane or global pandemic! That means we have to take it upon ourselves to cover all the logistics we’d typically never even think about. This time we won’t have support crews to feed us and keep us hydrated or haul our luggage to the next hotel. As a matter of fact, there won’t even be any hotels this time. We’ve rented an RV to act as a support vehicle and will be camping throughout this whole trip. Good thing it’ll be raining all week!

I’ll be the team mechanic for this ride, using only tools I’ll be carrying with me. Hopefully we don’t have any serious issues!

This year we’ll be starting from Fort Ticonderoga, NY. Since we’re creating our own route and don’t need to finish at the Quakerbridge Mall like normal, we decided to stay north and ride along the Great Lakes, ending up at Niagara Falls!

If we’ve made one thing obvious, it’s our dedication to this cause. With everything fighting against us, we’re still pushing to raise the funding needed to keep the lives of these children as normal as possible. In these trying times, that’s much harder to achieve than ever before. Below is a short video by my mom talking a little about what Anchor House means to the lives of the kids it provides for and about the ride. Please, if you can spare anything, donate to our Team. https://anchorhouseride.rallybound.org/Team/View/126127/Team-HomeCare-Vet
